Nonprofit Collaboration

Galatians 6:2 NIV

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Chist.”

Deuteronomy 15:7-8 ESV

“If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.”

These verses remind us of the incredible work nonprofits do every day to uplift and support the vulnerable in our community.  Their work often involves listening to heartbreaking stories, delivering difficult news, and witnessing intense emotional responses, while also being exposed to disturbing real-life scenarios during training for their job. This repeated exposure can deeply affect their mental and physical well-being which can lead to burnout and compassion fatigue.

Amarillo Community Village aims to combat burnout and compassion fatigue by being a hub for nonprofit professionals to gather together, be recharged, strengthened, and supported through prayer, worship, self-care activities, and encouragement. These gatherings are specifically designed for nonprofit professionals aiming to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being while also building connections and friendships with one another.

Our nonprofit professionals play a vital role in addressing our community’s needs. When nonprofit staff—from CEOs to front-line workers—thrive, the benefits extend to the entire community, creating a healthier support system for those in need. Together we are working to strengthen the resilience of nonprofit professionals to help sustain their capacity to continue providing the crucial assistance to vulnerable populations in our community.
