How it all started.
Amarillo Community Village (ACV) is a 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit organization founded in 2021 to help address critical gaps in services for both vulnerable populations and the nonprofit professionals who serve them.
Our founder, Alexandra Perez, spent over six years in social work and nonprofit service, where she witnessed the challenges professionals face: burnout, compassion fatigue, and an overwhelming demand for resources. Alexandra saw the need for a solution that not only supported clients but also sustained the professionals working tirelessly on their behalf.
Amarillo Community Village was created to be that solution— ACV serves as a bridge between nonprofits and the community, offering a place to learn about services, volunteer opportunities, and other ways our community can contribute/donate to local nonprofits in helping serve those in need in our city.
Inspired by the notion of “one supported professional can positively impact 15 to 30+ lives” on their caseload, this ripple effect motivated one of ACV’s core initiatives to “fill the cups” of those serving on the front lines. By strengthening the resilience of nonprofit professionals, we amplify their ability to serve their clients and continue making a difference in our community. ACV hosts gatherings focused on prayer, worship, self-care, and words of encouragement, specifically designed for nonprofit professionals aiming to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being while also fostering connection and friendships with one another.
By uniting as a village, we can share resources, lighten workloads, and inspire transformation—working together to restore hope, strengthen lives, and grow in our God-given identity and purpose.
Our Vision is to build a united community that serves and grows together in identity and purpose.
We are grateful for the willingness of nonprofits and our community to come together, putting aside differences to work toward a shared goal—serving one another in the name of Jesus Christ. As the body of Christ, we are called to be His hands and feet, working together as one to glorify God and fulfill His command to love and care for others (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). It is through this unity, under His guidance, that ACV thrives as a village dedicated to hope, restoration, and transformation in the lives of those in our community.
